The Band Boosters is a parent organization created to support the Instrumental music programs at Waseca High School. The Band Boosters is a non-profit group of adults has a formal Board of Directors and fully complies with 501c.3 non-profit regulations. Monthly meetings are held, along with the Director, to focus on aspects of the bands activities and needs. This may include staffing, current events, advertising, financials, fund raising, transportation, volunteer needs, uniforms, and much more.
Every band parent is a “Band Booster Member” and this organization would not be possible without each and every parent volunteer.
Board
The Booster Board consists of parents of band students and the Director of Instrumental Music. Vacancies are usually filled by parents of younger students, so they can serve for several years to provide both experience and continuity to the group.
Board members help coordinate every aspect of the instrumental program under the advisement of the Director of Instrumental Music. The Waseca Band is grateful for the continued dedication of the boosters and its board for the countless hours needed to make this program thrive.
A new member is normally coupled with an experienced outgoing member for a year to transfer the expertise effectively. There are many sub-committees usually led by a Board member that include several non-Board volunteers. These committees concentrate activities around at different times of the year and usually last only a couple of months.
